Me

Gutenberg Was Right - What I Do

Producer, Writer, Director

We are at the beginning of a media revolution. I  love the fantastic landscape of media platforms, all easy to access, with breathtaking technology driving a digital creative train. What I like best about this is the chance to break old rules with new creative and management options. It's an exciting time for us storytellers, like the Gutenberg Galaxy in overdrive.  These days I’m doing a lot of giving back by working with young movie makers across all departments, including producing for five first time Directors. In the end, the collaboration required to make a movie or TV show is intoxicating for me, a fun akin to a kid in a playhouse.

I've enjoyed decades of hands-on production and management experience in broadcast television and feature films, with a strong focus on early creative development and production supervision. As a film/TV maker, I have thirty-nine writers, over seventy producers, and twenty-two director credits. It’s normal for me to wear several hats on a feature so UPM and Driving a truck is not beyond me. See my list of engagements.

Actor

Over my career, it was inevitable that I would act in a movie or even few Plays. From talking roles to many background parts, working in front of the camera is natural. My acting studies include Stanislavski, HB Studio, and various dance courses. (See Portfolio) It is something I intend to do more of.

Movie Production

Experience | Engagement | Enjoyment

Years of work have afforded me significant creative and management experience. Giving me an end-to-end working knowledge of film and television development and production. In nine out of ten productions I work on, my involvement starts with early creative, budgeting, and department development. I'm very adept at kickstarting a production. I work both union and non-union. Many of my feature films and TV OTOs were union signatories—SAG, Equity, and IATSE. I have worked nationwide and have a working knowledge of state tax credits.

With significant industry connections, I enjoy access to the most current trends, crew, talent, and tech. My production positions include Executive Producer, Line Producer, Supervising Producer, and UPM, all at the center of production management. Managing the group creative process is one of my strongest skills.
